A new "Dragon Ball Z" video game aimed at Nintendo 3DS console is slated for a release sometime this year.

The game - "Dragon Ball: Project Fusion" - is an RPG based game and is likely to be released later this year in Japan.

A teaser website of the game has been launched, announcing a release of 2016; however, no specific date for release in Japan, USA or elsewhere has been published so far.

Gaming Reviews predict that the new game, being RPG-based, is most likely to host features along lines of "Legacy of Goku" and "Buu's Fury." For those who have enjoyed "Dragon Ball Z: Extreme Butoden," it is said that the upcoming "Dragon Ball Z: Project Fusion" promises an equal level of excitement.

As its title suggests, the new game shall be based around themes of Fusion. Screenshots of new game shows characters Broly and Goku fusing into each other. Goku is a popular character from Dragon Ball series, and he is a pacifist with enormous strength. Broly, however, has a damaged mind but his inner rage and violence has boosted his physical prowess.

Fan website is raving at fusion between Broly and Goku, as both of them have been shown as enemies earlier. Based on their fusion, it is being speculated that "Project Fusion" is likely to allow fusion between all characters of Dragon Ball universe. In addition, it is also said that since it is a theme of fusion, players can fuse different islands, cities and other locales.

According to HNGN, fusion combinations had featured in earlier versions of Dragon Ball series as well. For instance, Tien and Yamcha's fusion was Tiencha, while Goku and Hercule had fused into Gokule. Game Rant speculates that fused avatar of Broly and Goku in "Project Fusion" is likely to be named as Broku.

It is reported that "Project Fusion" shall be adopted into a manga series in Shueisha's Saikyo Jump magazine. Both manga and anime series will be promoted by an open competition, where fans could submit fusion designs of their favorite characters. Winning entry will be featured in the new game and manga series.
