Game developer company Supercell has introduced a publicly accessible API service for "Clash of Clans" that will enable gamers interested in accessing COC data. Now, COC API allows players to search for clans, member lists, badge images, a league list, and location based rankings.

According to iDigital Times, since the API is the only beta mode, players should anticipate seeing more features and access unveiled in the near future.

Gamers should register for a developer account here to use the COC API. After registering and having the email address verified, Supercell will give you an API key tied to a specific IP address, and every API key will come with a rate limit.

Furthermore, players can view the documentation for COC API here. It is also possible to test possible API queries on the documentation page, and preview outcomes before embarking on the difficult coding.

"Clash of Clans" API brings data back in the JSON format, which is vital to think as a big tree of text with children components, or leaves, that are linked to their parent elements, or branches.

Players may find it important to start with Google Script editor, with its ability to publish directly to Google Spreadsheets. In the event a player does not understand how to use COC API, he should feel free to tweet at @MikeARGS to get some help.

A bulk of the same information already available through the COC API can also be accessed via GUI of the Clash of Clans official website if a player finds it hard to code. For instance, a gamer can find clans according to search variables like War Frequency, location, or minimum/maximum number of members through both services.

It is upon the third-party developer to dig into the COC API and find interesting tools they can create, such as the third-party "Clash of Clans" clan tracker service, War Clans.
