While the release date of "Longmire" season 5 has yet to be confirmed, multiple reports suggest that the coming episodes will focus on Walt (Robert Taylor) and Vic Moretti's (Katee Sachoff) relationship.

Season 4 ended in a cliffhanger with an intruder interrupting Walt and Donna's (Ally Walker) intimate moment. Although not everyone is thrilled with his new love interest, it seems like their relationship will carry on in "Longmire" season 5.

In January, a photo of Walt and Vic was posted in the series' official Facebook fan page, with the caption, "What does the future hold for Walt and Vic?"

Fans of the novel knew that Walt and Vic ended up together, however, it is not new that adaptations tend to change a few things here and there just to make things more interesting.

The post drew mixed sentiments from netizens. Some held that Taylor and Sachoff had great onscreen chemistry, adding that the sexual tension between them is definitely something they look forward to seeing in more of in "Longmire" season 5.

 Some, however, pointed out that she is just too young for him. They held that Vic is like Walt's daughter. They suggested that they should bring in a new character that is much closer to his age.

When the renewal for "Longmire" season 5 has been confirmed, thousands of fans collectively let out a sigh of relief. It definitely took a while for Netflix to announce the renewal. While it can be chalked up to the fact that they are merely evaluating the show, some claimed Netflix was only trying to build up the anticipation.

According to Carter Matt, "Longmire" has proven to be a valuable series for Netflix. The outlet held that it uses the series to attract older viewers, the ultimate reason why decided to pick it up for a fourth season when A&E decided to pull the plug.

"They [Netflix] don't care about demos; instead, they want to provide incentives for viewers who have never tried Netflix before to have an interest in picking it up and giving it a go," the outlet explained.
