Speculations about the Gear 360 are relatively not new, and just weeks ago, Samsung filed a patent in South Korea for the same name, as posted in SamMobile. This clearly depicts that the VR headset can be closely released anytime soon. Rumours even show that it can arrive during the MWC 2016, when the company is scheduled to unveil the Galaxy S7 flagship.

The company has already been working with a VR camera, and it was visible in 2014 when it was named Project Beyond. As what speculations are circling, the Gear 360 VR camera is the upcoming result of the so-called project or a commercial version of it. Meantime, Samsung has not been idle in the VR technology as it currently has the most popular and cheapest VR headsets like the Gear VR.

Pertaining to the Gear 360 VR camera, the device is thought to come with two fish eye lenses that have a capacity of a 180-degree angle, and would result in images captured over 360-degrees. The VR device should work with your smartphone through Bluetooth, and will be packed with its own battery. This simply means that it does not have to depend on external power source.

Speculations are circling that the Gear 360 works with the upcoming Galaxy S7, but there is no news yet if it will need a Galaxy VR headset, something that should be connected to a mobile phone.

Meanwhile, it is said that with user's Gear 360 VR camera, one can record their own VR content.
