George Clooney and Channing Tatum play actors in the recently released comedy film "Hail, Caesar!" The earlier played a Kirk Douglas-type and dim-witted movie star named Baird Whitlock while the latter plays a Gene Kelly-type actor named Burt Gurney.

In an interview with People, Clooney described Baird Whitlock as "a blazing idiot." He added, "There's no bulb at all. That's how un-bright these bulbs are."

Clooney pointed out that he has never played a character with any integrity or any intelligence in any of the movies of Ethan Coen and Joel Coen, who co-wrote and co-directed "Hail, Caesar!"

Having done four films by the Coen brothers, Clooney joked that he is worried that the filmmakers may really think he is dim-witted like Baird Whitlock. He said, "They keep offering them to me with these notes, 'We wrote this with you in mind,' which concerns me."

According to Clooney, it was fun to be able to do films with Ethan and Joel. He added that looking back at their history of film, the two filmmakers are "going to be up there with the greatest of all time."

After "Hail, Caesar!," Clooney will star in Jodie Foster's drama thriller "Money Monster" opposite Julia Roberts. Among their co-stars are Jack O'Connell, Dominic West and Caitriona Balfe, who recently told E! News that she and her "Outlander" co-star Sam Heughan are not dating.

In "Hail, Caesar!," among Clooney and Tatum's co-stars are Scarlett Johansson, Alden Ehrenreich, Tilda Swinton, Ralph Fiennes, Frances McDormand, Jonah Hill, Veronica Osorio, Heather Goldenhersh, Patrick Fischler, Max Baker and Alison Pill. Watch the trailer here:
