Thanks to numerous leaks and persistent speculations so far, the G5 specs and features have started shaping up prior to its actual unboxing. Listed below are the LG G5 headline features predicted to find their way later on the Nexus 2016:

Nexus 5X-esque look

As Nexus maker, LG made a lasting mark with the Nexus 4 and cemented that image with the Nexus 5. It was hardly surprising then that when the company was assigned anew to build a third Nexus the result was a device largely inspired by the last version. Hence, the Nexus 5X was rolled out to great reception.

If LG will issue a fourth Nexus, the look and design should not be remotely different from that of the Nexus 5X. Android Headlines is convinced the LG G5 will make use bits of the Nexus 5X blueprint, which should give Google more reasons to model its 2016 flagship after the device.

Fresh design language

Google was recently reported to ditch its existing Nexus device design template in favor of more premium model that can slug it out with the best flagship smartphones out there. At around the same time, LG is rumored to overhaul is G-series smartphone that the LG G5 "is said to feel nothing like previous LG G-series smartphones," Android Headlines said.

Also, the report predicted that LG is using a digital design approach on the G5 that could mean the introduction of "a slick, minimal look and feel," that will be achieved by utilizing "a metal unibody design." All indications point to a solid and gorgeous LG G5 finish that Google would want to be the follow up to the Nexus 5X.

Removable battery and expandable memory

Part of the LG G5 metal unibody chassis is a unique feature that would melt the hearts of many Android fans. Despite the solid frame, reports from South Korea indicate that the G5 casing has a detachable bottom portion. The purpose of the design is to allow two power features - removable battery and memory expansion. Now it is up to Google if the same will be deployed with the next Nexus.

For the LG G5 to matter, and the Nexus 2015 as well, the insides will have to boast of the latest and the mightiest components. The first thing that comes to mind is the powerful Snapdragon 820 that LG will likely pair with up to 4GB of RAM.

Killer dual camera system

To qualify as a game-changer, there has to be something different with the LG G5 and biggest candidate seen so far is a dual-lens camera system that according to Android Headlines could be an actual combo that consists of a 21-megapixel and 16-megapixel sensors flanking an LED flash.

Apparently, this new breed of smartphone shooter will make it easier for users to create top-notch images, which should be something that Google would want to be part of the Nexus 2016 project.

If indeed the LG G5 gets introduced through the MWC 2016 later this February then rollout time could follow as early as March. As for the Nexus 2016 release date, questions on the matter should be answered by Google soon, probably starting with its yearly I/O Developers Conference on late May or early June.
