The Apple Watch reportedly has poor battery life that needs improvement, according to The Next Digit.

There are reports that the battery life of the Apple Watch can only last for 19 hours after a single charge. It will last for 19 hours depending on how the owner uses it. Other rumors say that if the device is used continuously, it will only work for four hours and the user must charge it every night.

Apple Watch's S1 chip is the same as the iPod Touch's A5 processor, which gives the device a performance boost but short battery life. Testing of the device showed results that it can last for 2 ½ hours to 4 hours when the owner navigates several applications. If the watch is just on standby and the user is not accessing apps, it can last up to 19 hours, Telegraph reported.

The success of a smartwatch is heavily based on its battery life. As a result, Apple wants to make sure that they excel in this area. Since there are only speculations as of this time and there is no confirmation about the battery life, the watch may perform beyond or below expectations.

The Apple Watch will prompt the user when an app alerts or SMS notification arrives. The clock will light up when the alerts are received and it will turn off when on standby mode. This will preserve the device's battery life but will turn out to be a disadvantage if the owner mainly uses it to check the time.

Executives from Apple revealed that it is best to charge the watch nightly. This news may disappoint users. If the reports are true, the Apple Watch will just be in between its rivals, such as Motorola's Moto G and LG's G Watch.

There are also debated if a smartwatch is a need or a want. Some testers said that it can only perform one good thing and may not be able to perform all tasks greatly.

Apple is currently preparing its staff for the launch of the device to better assist clients. The Apple Watch is set to be released on March.
