Samsung's latest flagship smartphones, the Galaxy S7 and the S7 Edge, are basically the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge of 2014 but better. The new devices come with better features and significant refinements that make them worthy follow-ups to their predecessors.

The Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge offered smartphone users with a great design that feels nice on hand and were built with premium materials, much like Apple and HTC. The S6 models also ditched many flaws that plagued their earlier versions, including that particular "cheap" plastic feel that comes with low grade materials, Verge reported.

Still, users complain of flaws that are present with the S6 and the S6 Edge - heavy price tags, non-expandable storage, the removal of waterproofing, and fast power consumption. With the coming of the S7 and S7 Edge, the South Korea-based tech company copied all the good parts of the S6 versions and then put them all together and added better functionalities that were lacking in the S6 models.

Unveiled on the eve of the Mobile World Congress tech show, the new S7 and S7 Edge were said to the best phones that Samsung has ever made. Among features integrated with the latest Samsung devices are a new gaming technology and a better camera that can take sharp images in low-light environments, according to BBC.

However, most tech experts present at the unveiling celebrate the restoration of several features that Samsung opted not include with their S6 line-up. The restored functionalities included expandable memory via MicroSD cards and water resistance.

While some observers and experts praise Samsung for delivering a suite of impressive smartphones this year, selling them may prove to be a challenge. Ian Fogg from the IHS Technology consultancy said that the difficulty lies with the similarity of the S6 and the S7 models when it comes to aesthetics. "Because at a glance they look to be the same as last year's model," Fogg remarked.

The S7 basically has the same the 5.1-inch, quad HD Super AMOLED display built in the S6. Under the hood, though, the S7 packs a more powerful punch. The new models are fitted with larger batteries, powered by the new Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 processor (available in North America only) and 4GB RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge will be available on March 11. Check the video below to know more about the new Galaxy S7 features and specs:
