Meanwhile, fans are still in the dark when it comes to Hoechlin's character Boyce because he was never mentioned in the trilogy written by author E.L. James.

According to MTV News, Boyce is the first author that Anastasia Steele (Dakota Johnson) will sign as editor at Seattle Independent Publishing (SIP).

The company happens to be owned by Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan).

James announced Hoechlin's casting on her Twitter account, and quoted the publication's article about the actor.

Immediately after, Hoechlin retweeted James' post, and replied.

"Meet Boyce Fox," James tweeted.

"@E_L_James @TheWrap Happy and honored to be here... #FSF," he wrote.

Hoechlin's tweet also confirmed that he will still be part of the franchise's third installment "Fifty Shades Freed."

Just like him, Kebbel's Gia Matteo will also be part of the "Fifty Shades Darker" sequel.

In other news, Heathcote has been cast to play the role of Leila Williams, Basinger will play the role of Mrs. Robinson and Johnson will play the role of Jack Hyde.

All three characters have made an impact on Christian's life both positively and negatively even before he met Anastasia.

Meanwhile, Hoechlin previously announced that he will no longer be a regular on the show.

"Teen Wolf" executive producer Jeff Davis explained last year that although Hoechlin's Derek Hale will not be seen as much on the show, his story is not yet completely over.

"Tyler Hoechline decided he wanted more time to pursue movies. We talked and creatively agreed that maybe this was a good season to refocus on the teens of 'Teen Wolf,' and while he won't be a series regular anymore, I can say that you probably won't have seen the last of Derek Hale," Davis told Hollywood Life.

"Fifty Shades Darker" will be released on Feb. 10, 2017. "Fifty Shades Freed" will be released on Feb. 9, 2018.
