Travelers have voted and rated what they think are the best beaches in the world. Their feedback on the coastlines, which they actually visited, were also collected by TripAdvisor, the world's biggest travel booking and planning site, in order to determine the world's best beaches.
The results revealed new names and displaced Baia do Sancho beach in Fernando de Noronha in Brazil, which had placed first in the ranking for two years straight. The said beach was edged out by Grace Bay of Turks and Caicos Island, CNN reported.
The new winners for the world's best beaches are really known to offer the finest views and overall sand and sun experience that is located in the Caribbean, Europe, Asia, Africa and the U.S. TripAdvisor does not only listed the top 25 but recognizes about 343 beaches around the world as well.
On Feb. 17, via press release, TripAdvisor's chief marketing officer Barbara Messing said, "We know travelers around the globe love sun and sand vacations, so we've tapped the TripAdvisor community to help us identify the world's best beaches."
Messing added that the Travelers' Choice Award winners will surely prompt beach lovers to plan their next holiday since "these beautiful spots are the very best from the TripAdvisor global community!"
Moreover, as stated on the travel advisor's site, they chose the winners based on the ratings, quantity and quality of reviews posted by the travelers themselves. The data have been gathered for the period of 12 months.
