As it turns out, Telus is currently having problems with Marshmallow updates for Samsung Galaxy Note 5, Galaxy S6 Edge and S6 Edge+, which implies that the updates may not arrive as previously planned.

According to GSM Arena, Telus has encountered minor drawbacks, and the updates will get postponed for several days. The Galaxy Note 5 and Galaxy S6 Edge+ updates will be expected on March 13 while those of the S6 Edge will be distributed starting on March 30.

The Canadian carrier has already released a schedule of Android 6.0 - 6.0.1 Marshmallow updates for other devices such as Galaxy A5, Galaxy S6 and Galaxy Tab A. Apparently, the OTA-based update will get rolled out to Galaxy Tab A on March 6, while the Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge+ and the Galaxy Note 5 will receive it on March 13. On its own, Samsung Galaxy A5 will get the upgrade on March 20.

With the new schedule, Telus has delayed the firmware by a fortnight. According to the Telus via SamMobile, the OS will also come along with the security update.

The Nexus 5, Nexus 6, Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P will get their usual security update on March 9. This may be the only update that is always consistent simply because there is no manufacturer UI skinned over pure Android. Here is a summary of the upcoming marshmallow schedule:

  • Samsung Tab A- March 6- Bug fixes + Security Update
  • Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5, Nexus 5X-March 6-Bug fixes + Security update
