The second season of One-Punch Man animated series will take some time before making its debut due to several factors that delay its production, according to source with knowledge of situation.

Ever since its maiden run last year, One-Punch Man has become one of the most popular animes in Japan and across the world, drawing a massive fan-base that could rival that of other iconic Shonen anime series such as Naruto, One-Piece and Dragon Balls Super.

Manga Illustrator Yusuke Murata, the same author behind Eye-Shield 21, revealed last December that he's working earnestly to make the second season of the anime series a reality, although it's unknown whether production has already kicked off.

Delayed Production

Over the past three months since the ending of the first season, contradicting reports about the release date of the second season has dominated the Internet. Some predicted a mid-2016 release while others believed season 2 might not be aired until 2017.

According to Sportsrageous, it's safe to assume the production of One-Punch man season 2 would take at least one to two years, considering the fact the chapters in Murata's One-Punch manga aren't enough to suffice the required screen-time for a 12-episode season.

The most logical release date for the second seson of One-Punchman is sometime in the second half of 2017, two years after its anime debut.

Mob Psycho 100

To quench everyone's thirst for unconventional anime series like One-Punch Man, Mob Psycho 100 is another great anime waiting to hit the TV screen. Created by the same person who introduced One-Punch Man (ONE), Mob Psycho 100 deals with the everyday ordeal of Kageyama Shigeo (a.k.a Mob), a middle-school boy with massive ESP power.

Aware of the destructive presence of his power, Shigeo tried to pacify his emotion as much as he can but finds it harder than he thought as troubles keep coming at him in bunches.

One-Punch Man animation director Yoshimichi Kameda supervised the character designs of the series, while Ajin's' Hiroshi Seko and Yuzuru Tachikawa will be the anime's scriptwriter and director, respectively. It will be making its debut this year.
