It seems that China’s Ministry of Public Safety was right in warning Chinese iQiyi viewers of watching “Descendants of the Sun.” Barely a day after the ministry warned against women falling in love with the lead star Song Joong-Ki, there is already a report of an incident at a photo studio caused by women falling for the handsome actor.

The Korea Times reported that a Chinese couple fought over the drama which has millions of viewers in the two Asian countries. The husband then went wild at a photo studio after he forced the photographer to take his picture so that he would look like Song.

Rather than argue with the jealous-driven man, the photographer reported the man to the police, giving credence to the ministry’s warning that couples could face legal problems if the wife falls for Song.

Chinese women, and possibly South Korean women too, will swoon at Song because he sizzles in the Korean drama. Straits Times noted that when Episode 1 ended, Song’s character succeeds in asking the female surgeon out which she agreed. But he instead stood her up spectacularly because the Army called and he had to immediately leave via helicopter for a top secret assignment.

The Singaporean daily pointed out that the female surgeon is a woman with a First World Problem in a five-star package because she has a man interested in her but keeps on leaving her. But when they reunites, the drama evokes “airbrushed, beautified real-world circumstances.”

With episode 2, the pair goes to a peacekeeping mission in a fictional country. Episode 6 brings them to an earthquake-struck which gives the lovers opportunity to have long exchange-searching gazes amid the chaos of the place and the situation.
