There were reports earlier this month that Nintendo might no longer provide updates to "Super Smash Bros. 4" because the fifth installment is rumored to be on its way. However, the company announced in an official statement on Wednesday, March 16 that a new game update called version 1.1.5 is available for download.

The update brings several major improvements like game balance, bug fixes, and other aspects that add to a better gaming experience. There is no official information available with regard to the change, but the patch requires 160MB free space, and therefore, the improvements are seemingly substantial.

The announcement on the official Nintendo website reads, "We have adjusted the game balance. In addition, we have fixed many problems so that you can still play the game comfortably. If you download the update data (Ver. 1.1.5), replay data stored in the update data (Ver. 1.1.4) previously you will not be able to play. In order to perform the Internet play, the update data (Ver. 1.1.5) is required."

For those seeking for more unofficial insights concerning the patch, one user via Reddit cited that possible changes to the game balance include improvements to damage or skills of characters like MK and Ganondorf. It is also claimed that Sheik and Cloud will get nerfed.

Immediately the announcement was made early Wednesday, some fans scrambled to download the patch at Nintendo eShop. Surprisingly, they found out that another patch is on the way courtesy of Masahiro Sakurai, the creator of the franchise, who unveiled the latest changes via Always Nintendo. Users should expect, therefore, to see more patches coming their way after upgrading their "Super Smash Bros. 4"

The game was last updated in February when the game publisher introduced the Bayonetta and Corrin characters. After the update, Sakurai himself said that the update would be the last for "Super Smash Bros. 4."
