The giant cable company, MTV, have stepped up efforts to produce a whole new bloodier and grittier Season 2 of "Scream: The TV Series." With its premiere date looming, casting news and updates have just been revealed.

MTV officially renewed "Scream" on July 29, 2015 for its Season 2. After this, majority of the fans were apparently anxious to hear more details about what may the following season resemble.

In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, the series' showrunner, Jill E. Blotevogel, revealed that "Scream" Season 2 will continue to follow the kids' in a fictional Lakewood town, as they attempt and get to the bottom of the killer's partner identity.

The highly anticipated new season of "Scream" will most likely be loaded with a whole new level of gore and brutal killing spree, considering that the newest killer in town is reportedly playing a psychotic and deadly mind-game.

The series potential murder victim lies within the brand-new faces adding to the cast roster, which MTV recently revealed. Among them are singer Kiana Ledé, "Criminal Minds" actress Austin Highsmith, Karina Logue and Broadway's "Spring Awakening" actor Sean Grandillo, who will be guest stars.

Completing the line-up is a new dark and anguishing character named Gustavo Acosta, who is set to come into the "Scream: The TV Series" Season 2 picture. To be played by the "Silicon Valley" actor Santiago Segura, the interest of the said mysterious student is generally on horror movies, comic books and serial killers.

Each respective new cast members' will apparently assume a pivotal role in the upcoming Season 2, where each one of them might appear in the flashbacks scene of Lakewood's murderous past or the most exceedingly awful part, they can be used as a bait for the series' new killer.

In addition, a new cop named Sheriff Michael Acosta, portrayed by Anthony Ruivivar, is also coming in Lakewood town, just in time for a whole new and bloodier killing spree.
