Reports about the development of "Red Dead Redemption 2" have been spreading like wildfire for quite some time now. However, despite all the clamor it has created, only few details about the "Red Dead Redemption" sequel can be confirmed as of yet.

FragHero previously reported that Take-Two Interactive has already been working on "Red Dead Redemption 2" for over four years now. The entertainment news website even cited an unnamed source who claimed that the "Red Dead Redemption" sequel is set to be released end of 2016. While the insider said he got the information from a former Rockstar Games employee, Forbes slammed the report and described it as a "garbage."

Forbes' Paul Tassi said in a report that he is not convinced with the claims as Take-Two Interactive has not divulged anything yet about the reportedly set-to-be-released game. Furthermore, he stated that the supposed features of "Red Dead Redemption 2" seems to be just as good as the last game and, with its development for four years, it's highly impossible that no upgrade has been made from its predecessor.

As for its title, Tassi said "Red Dead Redemption 2: Legends of the West" is obviously a bogus as it appears to be all phony and made up. He even stated that he does not think that it will be called "RDR 2" or shall Take-Two put a subtitle on it. However, he is quite confident that the "Red Dead Redemption" sequel will definitely soon be realized with the game's success.

To recall, Take-Two CEO Straus Zelnick has already confirmed that both "Read Dead Redemption" and "Grand Theft Auto" to be permanent franchises. "I pretty much know the ones that I can assure you are permanent," he said during a Cowen and Company analyst conference, as per GameSpot.

After Zelnick confirmed, fans cannot stop speculating that a "Red Dead Redemption" sequel will soon be released. However, up to this moment, Take-Two has been very effective in keeping things under wraps. Hence, what gamers and critics alike can do for now is to wait until the game developer release official details about "Red Dead Redemption 2."
