"Game of Thrones" Season 6 will feature a major battle scene of epic proportion that was never seen on TV before. The revelation is made by the hit series' writer-producer Bryan Cogman, who declared that the upcoming season will have the biggest action sequence yet.

In a recent interview with Entertainment WeeklyCogman talked about the upcoming season of the HBO series. He said, "We've always wanted to get to a place story-wise and budget-wise and time-wise and resource-wise where we would be able to do a proper battle, with one army on one side, one army on another side."

The creators of the show have reportedly thrived to keep the battle scene as natural as possible by minimizing the use of computer effects. The classic scene will feature hundreds of human soldiers on both sides followed by a mighty clash.

The sequence will be in an episode directed by Miguel Sapochnik, who had won recognition for staging "Game of Thrones" Season 5 episode 8 "Hardhome." Only this time, the battle scene will also involve horses along with a large number of stuntmen and extras. The filming of the scene took roughly a month to complete.

Previous seasons of "Game of Thrones" also contained a few battle scenes like a group of men defending a wall and castle in Season 4 and an undead army swarming a seaside outpost in season 5. However, the battle scene of Season 6 will be of epic proportion.

"Game of Thrones" Season 6 is returning on HBO on April 24. While the series has outpaced the source novels by George R.R. Martin, expectations are running high as the show creator David Benioff has claimed recently that the upcoming season will be the best one yet.

Meanwhile, the cast and crew of the show continue to remain tight-lipped about the major spoilers and new characters. Despite the watertight security around the show, Liam Cunningham, the actor who plays Ser Davos in the show, claimed recently during an interview with TV Line that Season 6 has a sea of new faces and much more shocking deaths than in past seasons.
