There are rumors that Claire Underwood may get Frank Underwood killed in "House of Cards" Season 5, in order to further her political ambitions.
"House of Cards" Season 4 recently wrapped up. However, fans are already looking forward to the storyline of the ambitious Underwoods' in the fifth season. The political drama series on Netflix was released on March 4, with all the 13 episodes, which were full of numerous twists. Season 4 finale elevated the show to a new level and Season 5 is expected to begin on a different note altogether, according to Independant.
Speculations about Season 5 are already on and it is rumored that the fifth season of "House of Cards" may be its last. This may very well be true since the series creator Beau Willimon exited the show after season 4. The departure of Willimon was announced in January, wherein, he simply cited that he left the show to take up new opportunities and work on other projects.
Lead actor and executive producer Kevin Spacey announced in February that Willimon will be replaced by Melissa James Gibson and Frank Pugliese, who will be the new showrunners of this show. Robin Wright, who enacts the character of the First Lady is also going to direct numerous episodes of the upcoming season.
Netflix has only renewed the show for one more season. However, according to another report, Netflix could easily announce that "House of Cards" will be around for more than one season, much similar to what they did with another show "Orange Is the New Black."
As for the speculations about season 5, fans believe that the "war" which the President and the First Lady announced could be the downfall of the Underwoods. A few fans also believe that the First Lady will outshine and beat her husband in the upcoming elections.
Meanwhile, a few reports are also claiming that the President may possibly die in Season 5, due to liver damage. Doug Stamper is also rumored to kill Neve Campbell, whom he detests in order to protect his President. Campbell said in an interview to GQ Magazine that, she has an interesting and challenging role in the series, which the audiences will like.
"House of Cards" Season 5 is expected to be released in March 2017.
