MacBook Air and Pro 2016 release will reportedly still happen despite being absent at last week's Apple's "Let Us Loop You In" media event. The tech giant allegedly delayed the laptops' release to prevent the devices from stealing the spotlight from iPhone SE and iPad Pro.

The new rumored MacBook Air and MacBook Pro 2016 release date is next month. However, a recent report from DigiTimes said that Apple will ship 13-inch and 15-inch ultra-thin MacBooks before the second quarter ends. The publication added that the laptop will be unveiled at the company's annual Worldwide Developers Conference which is usually held in June.

In order to salvage the MacBook Air from declining sales, MacRumors claimed that MacBook Air will be available in two sizes only, the 11 inch and 13 inch. However, there is a chance that a 15 inch MacBook Air will be revealed. The MacBook Air will finally pack a Retina display.

MacBook Air and Pro 2016 are rumored to retain the sizes of the original with Retina display, but will be packed with powerful specs and features, including the latest Intel Skylake processors. The laptops will also run with the latest OS X El Capitan.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that Apple will axe MacBook Air in favor of the 12-inch MacBook. Rumors afloat that Apple is working on the second generation of Apple MacBook. MacWorld reported that MacBook Air 2016 will not materialize as the product line will be ceased due to the more powerful successor of 12-inch MacBook. The publication predicted that the 12-inch MacBook will most likely have a successor as it celebrates its first birthday this month.

However, there is no official announcement from Apple regarding the final release date and features of the two laptops.
