Bayern Munich winger Douglas Costa and Beijing Guoan midfielder Renato Augusto scored the first two goals of the match for the Canarinho but Paris Saint-Germain striker Edinson Cavani managed to avoid a first half shutout for Los Charrúas with a goal at the 30th.

Eventually, Uruguay was able to level the count as Suárez netted his first goal for country in a long while three minutes into the second half of play.

Meanwhile, Peru is also coming off a 2-2 draw during the last matchday, this time with fellow bottom-dwellers Venezuela at the Estadio Nacional in Lima, Peru, as per Soccerway.

Venezuela scored the opening goal of the match with a penalty kick from midfielder Romulo Otero at the 33rd minute as the visitors held on for the one-point lead up until the halftime interval.

La Vinotinto had actually doubled the lead three minutes before the hour mark in the second half courtesy of a strike from center back Mikel Villanueva.

However, La Blanquirroja did not fold down to the challenge as they went on a two-goal run late in the match, courtesy of Flamengo striker Paolo Guerrero and forward Raul Ruidiaz at the 61st and in injury time respectively, to salvage the tie and share a point with Venezuela in the standings.

The predicted result is a 3-0 romp for Uruguay with Suárez in a starring role.
