"The Wolverine" star Hugh Jackman has engaged in a real-life heroic act after saving his son and a swimmer from Sydney Bondi beach's strong currents.

The Australian actor was shown in The Nine Network video carrying another swimmer towards the shore on March 26, Saturday. Following the act is saving his 15-year-old son Oscar, who was being shaken wildly by the waves. In the footage, "The Pan" actor was also seen beckoning a few other swimmers to come to shore and star safe away from the strong rip current flowing towards the swimmers.

Daniel Conn, a former member of the National Rugby League shared with the Daily Mail Australia that he was also on the site chatting with the actor, just when the sea's tide changed suddenly. The National Rugby League star said, "Oscar got caught up with it so I swam out to go and get him and bring him back but he got caught up in it again and he [Hugh] just went into full on Hugh Jackman mode. He got Oscar and he also helped some other people too, it was amazing."

Another on-looker named Lynzey Murphy also told Sydney's Sunday Telegraph that the surfing conditions changed swiftly, but Jackman remained calm all throughout the circumstance. According to the witness, when they got into the water, the current was still fine and that was only 20 minutes earlier. The water just suddenly came up and Jackman pulled them to the sandbar calmly, she added.

Reportedly, the actor was even able to tell the swimmers to walk towards the flags without any degree of panic; however, Jackman became too shaken to be interviewed by TV crews right after the incident.

The North Bondi Surf Life Saving Club wrote in their Instagram account:

WELL DONE to Patrol 13 captained by Rosie Taliano & Tom Bunting this afternoon who completed 43 rescues in total with only a limited 12 patrolling members rostered on. There were also 3 rescues in the morning completed by Patrol 10. A big THANK YOU to Waverley Duty Officers, @brontesurfclub, @bondisblsc, @bondilifeguards and @surfrescue30 for your extra assistance. The beach had to be closed due to dangerous conditions, multiple rescues happening all at once and limited resources.  @thehughjackman was also spotted assisting with rescues!
