Fans of "The Bachelor" 2016 all felt for JoJo Fletcher when Ben Higgins chose Lauren Bushnell over her after he made her believe that she is the winner. Many fans thought that it was unfair for Higgins to say "I love you," to another contestant then end up choosing another during the Final Rose ceremony.
Speaking to In Touch Weekly, Fletcher's ex-boyfriend Chad Rookstool, however, claimed that she did not have "genuine" feelings for Higgins. He revealed that Fletcher was actually just swept by all that is happening in "The Bachelor" and thought that she was feeling things for Higgins when the truth of the matter is, she is still in love with Rookstool.
Right after the filming for "The Bachelor" 2016 ended, Rookstool revealed that Bushnell came running back to his arms right after. He added that they also started talking about their future and even the possibility of marriage. Bushnell allegedly regretted her decision of being on the ABC series and thought that things would have been better if she stayed with Rookstool.
"As soon as she got home, we started hanging out every day and being intimate again. We were sneaking around the whole time The Bachelor was airing because she wasn't allowed to be seen with me."
After four months of continuously seeing each other, Fletcher reportedly had a change of heart once again. After the producers came knocking on her door, asking her to be the next Bachelorette, Rookstool said that Fletcher once again chose fame over their relationship. Although she tried to keep her relationship with him, Rookstool claimed that he just wanted to move on.
"She tried to tell me she wasn't saying goodbye forever - but I told her that I'm not going to sit around and wait for her [this time], and that was it."
Meanwhile, an interview with Extra, former "The Bachelor" contestant Jillian Harris shared that they were both very happy to have JoJo Fletcher as the next lead in "The Bachelorette" 2016.
Harris said that she has always been a fan of Fletcher since the beginning. She said that she will be the perfect bachelorette, not only because of her beauty but because she had a huge heart.
"The Bachelorette" 2016 premieres May 23 on ABC.
