Bill Gates, like Elon Musk and Stephen Hawking, has been worrying that Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a threat to the people.  The Microsoft big boss said that he could not understand why people do not think that AI is a threat and should be worried. AI could grow stronger and difficult for people to suppress, BBC reported.

Gates added that AI would be a help as a start and people would think it makes life easier but eventually will be a strong and great concern.  This statement was contradicted by Eric Horvitz, one of Microsoft's Research Chiefs, disclosing that twenty five percent of his technology group is focused on developing AI.

"First the machines will do a lot of jobs for us and not be super intelligent, a few decades after that though the intelligence is strong enough to be a concern. I agree with Elon Musk and some others on this and don't understand why some people are not concerned," he explained.

Microsoft executives were one of the many signatories together with hundreds of scientists and technologists in the open letter by Future of Life Institute (FLI) stating that AI bears a threat to human society in the future, according to Belfast Telegraph.

Musk and Hawking are signatories, too. They also have discussed about the threat and dangers of the AI technology. Tesla Motors CEO described it as summoning the demon and biggest existential threat there is. Hawking thinks that AI could be the end of the human race.
