The Oculus Rift has finally been released on March 28 and details of the device have been revealed. The virtual reality headset was praised by the reviewers after trying it out.

The VR headset, which was created by Oculus and supported by Facebook, is the first one to hit the market among the three - HTC Vive, PlayStation VR, and Oculus Rift. It can be purchased for $600, which is a bit less expensive than HTC's Vive that has a price of $799, Time reported. Sony's PlayStation VR is only $499, which is cheaper but it will come out in October.

Since it is now past the launch date, the Rift can be purchased directly through the Oculus website. Interested buyers can also check different retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, and the Microsoft Store, and will have to wait a while due to some orders that have not been processed yet.

For those who will receive the Rift box, it contains several accessories. Besides the headset itself, which has an integrated headphone and microphone, the box contains the Oculus sensor, the remote, one Xbox One wireless controller with batteries, adapter and extender, and the connection cables. It also has a tool that can let a user add or remove the integrated headphones with ease.

The Rift is powered by PC processors and more powerful than the earlier versions like the Google Cardboard and the Gear VR. It already has 30 launch titles which can range from $5 to $60. For those who pre-ordered the VR headset, they get a copy of CCP's "EVE Valkyrie."

Reviewers who already tried out the virtual reality headset by Oculus have given mostly praises to it, according to The Guardian. Every reviewer was impressed with the performance of the headset in terms of processing power, the very easy set up for the gadget with complete instructions from start to finish, the comfort of wearing it like it was not there at all, and the VR tech that it delivered when reviewers played a game. First person spaceship battle game "Eve Valkyrie" was a common favorite from the reviewers.

The common issue that the reviewers found was the price which was too expensive for the moment. They understand that the technology is still new but they feel not a lot of gamers will be able to invest with that kind of price.
