Bethesda has been tight-lipped about updates to its role-playing game "The Elder Scrolls 6," triggering rumors from gamers and critics.

There have been reports that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will come out during the upcoming Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3) 2016, which will happen in California in June. However, the game developer company is yet to confirm or deny these rumors.

Speaking to Polygon, director Todd Howard dished on how the development team worked diligently to make "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim" and "Fallout 4" a success. Although the director did not specify whether the company is already working on the sixth installment of "The Elder Scrolls" franchise, he mentioned that the game developer is working on three big and crazy projects.

According to Howard, the development team is doing so much with those three games, adding that fans and gamers should not expect any updates about the anonymous projects anytime soon. Some fans and critics speculated that "The Elder Scrolls 6" could be among the three titles in development. However, until Bethesda Studios confirm, this information should be taken with a pinch of salt.

In an interview with the Telegraph, Bethesda vice president for marketing, Pete Hines, teased about "The Elder Scrolls 6" being referred to as "Skyrim 2." The upcoming title will be a continuation of the successful 2011 title, "The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim."

"They'd be spitting out a 'Skyrim 2' the year after or two years later," Hines told the publication. "That's just not how we view it. We're not the sort of publisher that focuses on what's our 25 titles for 2015."

While it was previously speculated that the upcoming game would be based on "Morrowind" or "Oblivion," the rumors are now discredited. According to Hine, it is not easy to have franchises like the ones Bethesda has and get people joking about when the next installment will be released. However, people would say so because that is what is expected with another publisher in charge.

Bethesda's Vice President of PR and Marketing added that the company does small stuff and try to publish to quality as opposed to pushing to scale. The company's approach of ensuring everything done is significant has not changed. While Bethesda may sometimes change the strategy according to what is presented, it still sticks to what it is.

It seems like a 2016 release of the title is unlikely, but there are high chances that "The Elder Scrolls 6" will release on the gaming consoles and the PC in 2017. Watch the footage below for more information:
