The exact same thing happened with the Duggar family's now debunked reality TV show "19 Kids and Counting."

After Josh Duggar confessed to sexually molesting young girls when he was just a teenager, the entire Duggar family household faced backlash for his deed.

Since the TV show promotes Christian values, the advertisers and the network decided that they should stop airing the show altogether because it contradicts with the family's beliefs.

"Critics are disgusted that the bible-thumbing Duggars hold themselves out as pious Christians advocating family values when Josh molested his own sisters..."

After which, the network decided to give Duggar's two younger sisters the chance to continue on the family's legacy with "Jill & Jessa: Counting On."

The goal behind the spinoff was for the two siblings, who were sexually molested by their brother, to share their thoughts on what Duggar did.

Meanwhile, some of the advertisers that have already withdrawn their spot from "Jill & Jessa: Counting On" include Wrigely, Cici's Pizza, The UPS Store and Verizon Wireless, according to Inquisitr.

Media expert David Johnson, CEO of Strategic Visions talked about the controversy that the Duggar family is still faced with today.

"The Duggars are radioactive right now. People will see that this new show is just a desperate ploy by the Duggars to reclaim the spotlight and hopefully make some dollars off the public," he said.

In other news, The Examiner also claimed that thousands of viewers are still unhappy over the fact that TLC decided to give "Jill & Jessa: Counting On" a chance.

After all, they already decided to cancel "19 Kids and Counting" for the right reasons. Still, the network decided to come up with a spinoff to test the waters with their advertisers and viewers.

At present, Duggar and his wife Anna are still working on strengthening their marriage. Other than his sexual molestation scandal, the former reality TV star was also involved in cheating with his wife with a porn star.

As of late, Duggar never admitted the cheating allegations.
