Regarding the older flagship device Samsung Galaxy S5, it has started to receive the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow update in Korea. However, the network carriers in the Unites States are expected to begin the rollout soon.

T-Mobile support page lists the device as confirmed to get the update. Other carriers such as AT&T, US Cellular, Sprint, and Verizon are expected to follow suit soon. However, the exact release schedule is not known for these network carriers.

All the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5 users have still not got the Android Marshmallow update. Only Sprint and Verizon have rolled out the update till now. T-Mobile and, US Cellular and AT&T are still testing the update for the devices.

Users can go to Settings> About Device to see if they are prompted for an OTA notification to download the update or not. It is recommended to connect to a Wi-Fi to download the update, when the battery is more than 50 percent charged, as it will take some time to upgrade to the latest patch.

Hence, it is expected that the latest update of Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow will definitely take awhile to reach devices, such as Samsung Galaxy Note 4 and Note 5. It may also be possible that the network carrier may skip the Android Marshmallow update and instead directly go in for the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow patch.
