The all new and improved, Watch 2, has not appeared in Apple's March 21 big event. According to reports, the giant technology company is as yet taking a shot on some additional spectacular features for the said device.

Suffering months of delay, most recent reports claim that Apple is still working on a new modular smart band that will bring GPS receivers and wireless charging battery packs to the Apple Watch 2, The Apple Insider has learned.

The news broke out after Apple has filed a patent application alongside a detail strap design with installed electronic devices that connect via the Apple Watch's diagnostics port. Thus, the anticipation grows more for Apple Watch 2.

The rumor mill suggests that the much-awaited announcement about the smartwatch could be made at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June or during Apple's convention in September along with the rumored iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 plus, Christian Daily reported.

Other exciting news noted that the second generation of Apple Watch will host better, smarter features than its predecessor. Fans worldwide would be interested to note that Apple Watch 2 is said to be a self-reliant device, as the brand is adding the mobile payment and digital wallet service called Apple Pay.

In addition, Watch 2 will most likely pack its own GPS chip, highlighting an OLED display and a powerful battery that is way better compared to Apple Watch Original. It will reportedly include an ARM Cortex A32 processor, a variety of health sensors, and above all, a front-facing camera that will empower users to make and receive FaceTime calls on their second-generation Apple Watch.

Regardless, fans worldwide were hoping that the long wait will be worth it. To date, details about the upcoming Watch 2 is still being kept under wraps. Thus, the reports about the release date and its features should be taken with a grain of salt.
