Bethesda's games are the best in the market since they present players with an interactive world that is almost a full sandbox. The high standards of these games boils down to the company's engine, which has been used for every single game since the launch of "The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind."

However, the same engine has led to many problems with the games like their overall bugginess, in addition to a clear absence of progression in some of the critical areas, according to GamingBolt. While the developer company claimed previously that it has updated the engine ahead of the release of many key games including "Skyrim," "Oblivion," and "Fallout 4," Bethesda ended up only adding details to the same core engine. The details have led to the same issues remaining across all games, with the addition of new ones.

Meanwhile, the game developer may be considering upgrading their engine for the upcoming "The Elder Scrolls 6," if the recent job listing is to be believed. The new job listing if for Bethesda's Montreal studio and the company is soliciting for an Engine Programmer, according to Jobs Zenimax.

From the job posting, the Engine Programmer will be charged with the responsibility of working closely with artists, designers, lead engine programmers, and producers to execute and optimize game features. The Engine Programmer will also plan and design code in conjunction with team members.

Other responsibilities will include providing technical expertise to develop cutting-edge technologies such as architecture, prototype, design, test, implement, document, debug, maintain, profile, and support. Furthermore, the job description said that the Engine Programmer would maintain existing systems besides learning to work with existing engine and workflow.

The job listing could be an indication that the company is seeking to upgrade and refurbish their engine. However, fans should not be exited just yet, especially considering just the number of times the company has failed to eliminate the problems associated with the engine even after an upgrade. It would be a good thing if an upgrade or a new engine comes to the highly awaited game.
