Korean-American singer and TV host Eric Nam, 28, and Solar, 25, the main vocalist of girl Korean idol group Mamamoo began filming for "We Got Married" on April 2 for their episodes to air after current couple Kim So Yeon and Kwak Shi Yang leave. Kim and Kwak have been on the show since late of 2015.
The new couple, Eric Nam and Solar have already been spotted filming for the MBC show. On April 2, fans saw them dressed in what looked like wedding attire, Koogle TV reported.
Someone from the industry commented that both singers have a likeable personality. Many presume that being on the same field of singing, the two can easily get well with each other.
In South Korea, MBC's show, WGM is a reality variety type which was a segment of the "Sunday Night" program that started in 2008. It is now airing at 5:00 p.m. local time on Saturdays. It brings together the country's celebrities and let them experience married life. The couples have missions to accomplish and are asked to reveal their feelings and thoughts.
Earlier reports said MBC was in talks with Solar of Mamamoo and Hyosung of Secret for the reality show but the pairing of Eric Nam and Solar has been confirmed instead.
Both Eric Nam and Solar have been occupied with singing activities as the former recently released his album "Interview," while Mamamoo's latest "You're The Best" topped the charts.
Also known as Nam Yoon Do, Eric Nam was born on Nov. 17, 1988. He grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and graduated from Boston College. He has been based in South Korea and first appeared in 2012 after being discovered on YouTube performing a cover song. His official debut was on Jan. 23, 2013 with the mini album "Cloud 9."
Meanwhile, Mamamoo is potentially among the well-balanced girl groups in K-pop, said a post on K-Pop Vocal Analysis blog. All the four members have a higher skill level than other idols and the group has better overall vocal balance as a whole.
