Nvidia has promised to give better technology when it comes to virtual reality, making it more realistic than ever. A new GPU has also been revealed that has artificial intelligence and has a specific task of deep learning.

Nvidia CEO Jen-Hsun Huang talked about the new Iray VR technology on the first day of the company's GPU Technology Conference on April 5, EWeek reported. This new tech was designed to enable developers to create virtual worlds in photo-realistic detail, Huang added. Nvidia vice president of graphics research David Luebke has also said at the conference that the technological problems they were trying to solve was how to make VR more realistic.

During the convention, the Nvidia CEO explained that consumers needed to feel that they were in the virtual reality world completely if they want to take advantage of VR technology. He added that realistic images were not enough, but it should be real or photo-real.

The VR tech was powered by the company's graphics processing unit, added Huang. He also announced that there will be new products, which will be endorsed to companies that want to have those technologies to make their VR tech better.

Huang explained during the conference that Iray VR, the new video rendering technology, will improve 360 degree video displays on VR headsets, according to Fortune. It will be available in June for many professionals that want to quickly create photo-realistic designs. Building interiors and car models can now be done with virtual reality headsets with this new video rendering technology.

TECHnalysis Research principal analyst Bob O'Donnell told the EWeek publication that the rise of VR and augmented reality tech has become the savior for system and component makers. This will be a new growth area that these companies can target and innovate for and Nvidia is the one realizing that for them, he added.

Meanwhile, Huang also revealed at the conference that they have a new GPU that has artificial intelligence. It is specifically designed for deep learning, which trained computers to recognize certain objects within images with ease. Microsoft and Google will be the first companies to acquire this new GPU first and will be followed by other big companies like Dell.
