The strength of Android is how the software deals with notifications. Latest Android versions such as Lollipop and Marshmallow has a rich and robust notification system, which gives more than users can do with notification as opposed to just getting alerts for a new email.
The blueprint and functionality of notifications in Android is currently at its best, although not all developers use the tools created by Google to allow apps take advantage of diverse notification systems. Nevolution from the developers of Greenify aims to transform the state of Android notifications, according to Android Police. The app allows users to improve the notification functionality without the help of the original developer of the app through community-created plug-ins.
Although Nevolution could become a very important application once there is a large collection of tools, the plug-ins list is confined to the eight built-in options that come with the app and the optional extension pack. Users will be prompted to install the optional extensions pack in the app after opening Nevolution for the first time.
Community plug-ins for Nevolution has options such as multi-line text that separates out condensed text and expands it into many lines, another report from the same publication noted. Another one is the no heads-up option, which allows a user to disable heads-up notification that may pop up on the display when the screen is awake and the device is in use during the arrival of a notification. Users can disable heads-up if they feel they are usually interrupted by some app's notifications when they are in the middle of something crucial.
The Nevolution app comes with many other plug-ins, including Elastic List that is useful in taking one-line text and stretching it out in multi-line text. More plug-ins include stack, call vibrator, bundle, and options for WeChat and WhatsApp.
Nevolution is a good experiment for users who want more configuration and control over their notifications. The eight available plug-ins will get you started, even as the community of users expect the app to expand its functionality even more to make notifications for all apps as rich as possible.
