Is Google already preparing for the Nexus 2016 release date? The question pops up as the LG-made Nexus 5X is again the subject of juicy deals with one offer that includes the tech giant's wireless service, Project Fi, that pushes down the sticker price to $199.

Android Headlines reported that as of April 8, the Nexus 5X asking price saw cutbacks of up to $150, leaving the tag at only $299. For those interested, head over on eBay to secure a unit, which the report said is likely on limited supplies. The same offer involves the 5X international model, meaning for U.S. users the phone will only work on AT&T and T-Mobile.

But Google it seems has the best package offering for the 5X as Phone Dog reported that limited run Project Fi promo that bundles the wireless service with the handset has been extended. Originally, the deal should have ended April 7 but Google thought it wise to give Android fans more time to take the LG-flavored Nexus that comes with stable connection.

Nexus 5X with Project Fi will instead expire May 8, keeping its irresistible price of only $199. With the device becoming even more affordable, Android fans will get to unbox a handset that boasts of near-flagship specs and an operating system that is always updated ahead of the Android pack.

The icing on the cake is Project Fi, which is Google promising of uninterrupted wireless connection that for the most part is true in select U.S. locations.

Prior to these Nexus 5X deals, the Huawei Nexus 6P and HTC Nexus saw significant price dips in the past few weeks that prompted speculations of impending release date for the Nexus 2016 series of devices. The rationale as always is when old gadgets start getting huge price cutbacks then the maker is looking to clear out old inventories quickly and make way fresh stocks.

In Google's case, it will be for the tablet Nexus 7 2016 and the rumored two Nexus 2016 smartphones. The slate with premium build and high-end specifications is said to be a Huawei-assembled device that points to the likelihood of a Pure Android tablet inspired by the Nexus 6P phablet.

As for the next Nexus phones, speculations are rife that HTC is the chosen builder of the vanilla Android flagship including the smaller and cheaper model. Google has calendared its 2016 I/O to begin May 18 and at the event the Android N unveiling is expected to happen that will set off the Nexus 2016 release countdown.
