Gamers are now anticipating the next edition of Sony's console, PlayStation 4. Just a month ago, the more powerful version of the console is nothing but rumors. But now, it looks like it will actually come to fruition and will come out later this year.

Initial reports stated that the PlayStation 4.5K or PS4K will have an even more powerful GPU and higher clock speed compared to its predecessor. To make things sweeter, it will not be as expensive as the price point is said to be set at $399, Country Caller reported. This means that the PS4 will have a price cut and will probably be tagged at $299.

Moreover, the more powerful console will have the capacity to run games at 4K Blu-ray playback, which would also require HDMI 2.0a. If this can be done, the console will have no difficulties to upscale games at 4K.

Although this might sound good to PS4 enthusiasts, there are also some question marks that need to be addressed, according to Value Walk. Although the specs linked to the PS4K looks good on paper, it might just be a bit unrealistic due to the fact that a console might be too limited and providing 4K video quality is not as simple as it sounds. Hence, some solutions were presented to the table by the website.

Currently, the PS4 features standard AMD components and by the time the PS4 was released, Sony finally came up with a microprocessor that is twice as powerful as the console. Also, the current consoles are said to be running at 28 nm, when there are already better chip sets such as 14 nm and 16nm. Should Sony succeed in implanting such technology to the PS4K, the possibility of gaming at 4K quality will finally be possible.

However, the issue that Sony might face in the process is the PS4K would need a faster RAM that can accommodate the said processor. Also, clock speed would be another concern and the website suggested that Sony should use the 7970 Tahiti to increase the processing power of the console by up to 60 percent.

Lastly, the PS4K could probably end up as PS4 slim. Since the only way Sony can make 4K gaming possible is by using the 14nm and 16 nm microprocessors stated. Thus, it will also decrease the size since its internal has been reduced. Here are some thoughts about the console courtesy of GameCross,
