Just like the faith of "Attack on Titan" season 2, another well-loved anime series, titled "Tokyo Ghoul," was pushed back again to 2017 release due to the lack of source materials.

According to HNGN, the much anticipated third season of "Tokyo Ghoul" was delayed and may premiere at a later date of 2016; however, new reports suggest that the third season of the Japanese dark fantasy anime was pushed back again to a 2017 release date, even after FUNimation Entertainment CEO Gen Fukunaga already confirmed that the third series will premiere this year.

Although no firm reason why the anime adaptation was delayed, rumors suggests that the main cause of delay was due to lack of source materials, as the "Tokyo Ghoul" manga version has only 69 chapters as of March 24. It is said that the pacing of "Tokyo Ghoul:re" manga is not enough to cover the full third series of the anime adaptation.

Meanwhile, it is said that fans are not happy about "Tokyo Ghoul" season 2 because of the unnecessary deviation of the story from the manga series. Due to fans reaction, it is said that the creators of the anime adaptation promised to fulfill and be faithful to the source content with the upcoming "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3. However, it seems to be too late, as fans would rather see a "Tokyo Ghoul" full reboot than a continuation.

To back the details that fans would rather see a full reboot, a petition on ipetitions.com is now calling for signatures on a full reboot of "Tokyo Ghoul." Aside from the issue of not following the source content, the petition also cited that Studio Pierrot butchered the plot, along with "Tokyo Ghoul's" characters and their development.

The petition already gathered 3170 signatures as of April 13, and will continue to increase until no "Tokyo Ghoul" reboot was presented to the fans.

It is expected that more updates of "Tokyo Ghoul" season 3 (or perhaps "Tokyo Ghoul" Reboot) will be released later this year.
