Charlize Theron was recently asked whether she believes in the fairy-tale kind of love just similar to what is explored in "The Huntsman: Winters War." The Hollywood actress admitted that as she grew older she realized there are different kinds of love not just the romantic type.

The actress opened up about her opinions on love during Monday's red carpet appearance in Los Angeles, for the premiere of "The Huntsman: Winters War." Theron, who reprises her role in the film as the evil Queen Ravenna, said that at first she really believed there was just one kind of love; the romantic kind. This is what she believed in when she was young.

However, she reportedly later learned about the different types as she grew older. She mentioned love for family as another type of love. She also included love for children, for sisterhood of friends and several other kinds of love.

"That it is what kind of conquers all, because at the end of the day that is truly what matters," Eonline quoted Theron as saying.

Theron had her fair share of romantic love in the past. She was previously in a relationship with "Cinderella Man" actor Craig Bierko, and with Third Eye Blind lead singer Stephan Jenkins in the 1990s. She also had a long-term relationship with Stuart Townsend, whom she met on the set of "Trapped." They were together for nearly nine years from 2001-2010.

The 40-year-old actress later fell in love with actor Sean Penn. The pair started dating late December 2013 and became engaged in 2014. At that time they were together, Penn admitted he was ready to become a husband again after several failed marriages. The actor was previously married to Robin Wright and pop star Madonna.

It would have been Penn's third marriage if he had wed Theron. But the actor admitted then that he considered it as his first marriage, the Esquire UK reported.

However, the couple ended their engagement late in June 2015. Theron has yet to find a new man in her life and settle down for good. Regardless, she has the company and love of her children to keep her occupied. Theron is a mother to infant daughter August and to four-year old Jackson, who are both adopted.
