Scott Eastwood has officially joined the cast of "Fast and Furious 8." A new report suggested that he may end up playing Brian O' Conner's (Paul Walker) long lost brother.
According to Digital Spy, Eastwood and Walker looked eerily similar and they could easily be mistaken as brothers. While the former's role has yet to be confirmed, it was said that his character will likely join Mr Nobody (Kurt Russel) in assigning a new task to Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and the gang. It was also pointed out that Eastwood and Walker have been friends for years so it would be quite touching to see him continue his legacy one way or another.
On his official Instagram page, Eastwood posted that it was a dream come true to join the "Fast and Furious 8" cast. The actor added that he has looked up to the characters for some long and he could not wait to learn a thing or two from them. Eastwood also did not forget to pay tribute to Walker and their friendship.
"Paul was a close friend of mine. We surfed together, traveled together, and he was a huge role model and influencing figure in my life when I was younger. He still is. He was an older brother to me... Paul - I am going to make you proud. #F8"
Meanwhile, Michelle Rodriguez, who plays Letty in the "Fast and Furious" franchise, thought that no one will be able to replace Walker. In an interview with TMZ, Rodriguez made it clear that no one will be able to take Walker's place even Clint Eastwood's son.
"I don't know about that. Nobody will ever, as long as I live, fill that role. Understand that?" Rodriguez said.
She, however, later went on and said that she is happy that Eastwood is going to be part of "Fast and Furious" 8 cast, adding that he is a "cool actor."
