According to a report from The Verge, the search giant Google will bring 3D Touch-style interaction to Android N.

Last week, the second iteration of the Android N developer preview rolled out. It contained support for launcher shortcuts.

It is expected that the feature will imitate the pressure-sensitive contextual functions introduced by the iPhone 6s, enabling owners to launch particular app sub-functions by pressing harder on the display.

Google has confirmed that the feature will be built in at the operating system level, enabling manufacturers who make Android devices to take advantage of the feature if they want.

Multiple window support and improved Java 8 support are some of the other features of Android N.

According to reports, Android N will sport a new feature called Multi-window that allows multiple windows on one single screen.

There are also many enhancements to notifications. Android N enables users to get incoming message notifications conveniently and fast without leaving the notification shade.

Also, there is a feature called Bundled Notifications. With the feature, users can group notifications together from each app in the menu and they will only need to tap the bundle to read alerts.

Android N brings Java 8 language features to the operating system.

According to some reports, Android N will be revealed in the forthcoming I/O that will be held in May. It is believed that the forthcoming Android N will be called Android Nougat or Android Nectar.
