Google search chiefly used to be a desktop search engine which internet surfers used to find answers about anything. However, that has changed drastically as people are using different devices in different circumstances and Google is yielding to this change.

Google search used to an immobile activity that the internet users conducted only through desktops to search for their answers and ask all types of questions. Now, the sudden explosion of technological products like smartphones, Amazon Echo, and GPS navigation has changed the way people searched, it is not a static process anymore, Search Engine Land pointed out..

It means that people are searching on the go, asking questions to find and locate things, tap on the smartphones to get directions; so now the search is no longer limited to just typing keywords. This evolution is urging Google to improve according to the behavior of people, who do not stick to only one type of search method. Google has no other option but to welcome the brave new world.

Internet users are turning to more convenient methods of using the internet search. A good example of this change is searching for weather conditions on the move. By typing "How is the weather today" a user intends to find out the weather prediction of his current city, he expects the search engine to know the place he is passing through, without mention its name. In other words, a user expects Google to know more about his needs than what applies to everyone using the world's largest search engine.

The statistics conform to new search behavior of the people. A recent survey conducted in the US indicates that just last year 60 percent people had already switched to voice search, IsaInsider reported. Another scale to measure this change is Google Trends, where trending phrases like "call mom" are obviously something that users have commanded through voice search. The increasing numbers of such search queries are a direct indicator of people are getting more interested in voice search than type search.

The challenging part of this bargain is that Google search cannot display ads in voice search, which is the major source of the company's revenue. The search giant is adopting to this change by making its products more attractive so users keep coming back whether they search or not. Whichever the case, Google search is becoming more dynamic in both its function and meaning.

The following YouTube video by Google's official channel shows the introduction of its the then new search by image feature, which was one of the first search evolution in this regard.
