The latest rumors concerning the "Transformers" franchise indicate that "Transformers 5" will have a female lead character and will debut on June 23, 2017. Its predecessor and the sixth sequel, "Transformers 6," will then unveil thereafter in theaters in 2019.

There are no concrete details about "Transformer 6," but for "Transformers 5," the latest reports suggest that 14-year-old 'Nickelodeon" actress Isabela Moner will be starring as a lead character in the movie. The actress will be appearing on board as Izabella, meaning that "Transformers 5" will for the first time, have a female lead character, The Wrap has learned.

After a short period in "Nickelodeon," "The House That Jack Built," and TV movies, Moner will be having her breakthrough in her career. "Transformers 5" will push her into the Hollywood bubble, a universe that is reportedly not usually kind to young actors.

The "Transformers" franchise has been overwhelmed by numerous accusations of sexism, with reports implying that Director Michael Bay's attitude towards female stars like Rosie Huntington-Whitney and Megan Fox has been undesirable. With Moner now in the franchise, this critical flow is on the verge of being deleted, although fans will have to wait and witness for themselves.

In the meantime, Mark Wahlberg could be returning to the "Transformers" franchise to play the role of Cade Yeager, IGN reported. Joining him will be Jerrod Carmichael together with the female lead, Moner. Apart from this, rumors about the storyline show that the film will see deep space travels with Optimus Prime.

The "Transformers" series is based on an 80s children's toy franchise, which has now transformed into a Hollywood blockbuster. The franchise has up to now, managed to pull through over $3.7 billion in revenue and is set to roll onwards to the upcoming fifth and sixth sequels.

The forthcoming sequel,"Transformers 5," will see its production begin this summer in Detroit. Shooting will then pick up in other geographical locations all through the world.

Bay will return as the director while the film will be written by Ken Nolan of "Black Hawk Down" and Art Marcum & Matt Holloway of "Iron Man."
