After the heart-pounding Superbowl XLIX came to a decisive end, Tom Brady of the New England Patriots was hailed as the games Super Bowl MVP, but what made Brady give up his 2015 Chevrolet Colorado to rookie Malcolm Butler is unbelievable.
Despite Brady's four-touchdown performance it was the goal-line interception of rookie Malcolm Butler in the closing seconds of the game that marked the game's biggest play and made Brady want to reward the undrafted cornerback by giving him the 2015 Chevy Colorado he won as the game's MVP, according to the Boston Globe.
When asked about what he can comment on the game winning interception by his teammate Brady said, "A guy like Malcolm who makes that type of instinctive, quick play, that's one of his strong suits."
On the other hand, the heart-breaking loss for the Seattle Seahawks came on the final play of the game.
On the last play of the Seahawks in the closing seconds of the fourth quarter, the team had a second-and-goal and will snap at the Patriots' 1-yard-line and still has 26 seconds left on the clock when quarterback Russell Wilson throws a bullet-pass towards Ricardo Lockette which ended up being intercepted by Malcolm Butler.
Many analysts were quick to criticize Wilsons call and many pointed him as the reason why the Seahawks failed to win the Super Bowl. Fans and critics alike were dumbfounded when the quarterback picked a pass instead of just handing down the ball to running back Marshaw Lynch who is probably one of the best running backs in the game right now, according to ESPN.
When asked about his why he picked that play Wilson said, "It looked open enough." The quarterback also added that he did not regret doing that play and had no doubt about it as well.
