Coinciding with the celebration of Earth Day this month, the red Angry Bird was spotted at the Great Wall of China spreading not only its wings, but nature awareness as well.
According to China Radio International, the popular video game character surprised fans with a visit to the Great Wall and the Bird's Nest Olympic stadium in Beijing.
Onlookers were able to grab the opportunity to take pictures with the infamous bird, who was caught wearing a yellow sash that bore the title "United Nations - Honorary Ambassador."
In March, Red was appointed by the United Nations as an ambassador for International Day of Happiness, an initiative that brings together "globally renowned characters to make a direct link between tackling climate change and people's happiness and well-being," according to the UN News Center.
"The Angry Birds have entertained millions of people around the world--and now they are part of making the world a better place," said U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at the launch of the campaign.
"We are proud to give Red a reason to go Green," the U.N. chief said. "There is no better way to mark the International Day of Happiness than to have our animated ambassador raise awareness about the importance of addressing climate change to create a safer, more sustainable and happier future for all."
The event in Beijing highlighted a video showing of the Angry Bird's trips to 25 different countries, including Finland, Australia, France and Argentina. Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, and Maya Rudolph lent voices to the video, said CRI.
The U.N. also unveiled limited edition stamps of Angry Birds to commemorate Earth Day and the Paris Agreement on climate change, the news website added.
Started out as video game franchise by Rovio Entertainment, the Angry Birds is now coming to the big screen worldwide.
