British actor Tom Hiddleston recently sparked speculations that he could be joining the eight installment of the hit "Fast and Furious" franchise. The 35-year-old actor, who reprises his role as Loki in "Thor: Ragnarok," hinted at the possibility of him joining the star-studded "Fast and Furious 8" cast.

Speaking to Rolling Stone, Hiddleston was asked whether he prefers playing oddballs or heroes, to which he responded that he would love to return to "twisted" art-house movie projects. It was then that he revealed how much he loves "Fast and Furious 7."

"In fact, I was just telling someone how much I love Furious 7. And they said, 'Are you kidding me?'" Hiddleston stated in the interview. "Dwayne Johnson flexes his arm, breaks open his cast and then says, 'Daddy has to go to work' - if you don't love that, I don't know how I can appreciate you as a human being."

Apparently, Hiddleston, who will star in the 2017 reboot of "Kong: Skull Island," seems to be a huge fan of the film and The Rock. Hiddleston easily fits in a movie like the "Fast and Furious 8," given his past credits. He currently stars in the AMC TV series "The Night Manager," where he plays undercover MI6 agent Jonathan Pine opposite Hugh Laurie's Richard Roper. He could play a similar role in "Fast 8."

Moreover, Hiddleston will find himself in good company if ever he gets confirmed for a part in "Fast 8."

Meanwhile, Oscar-winning actress Charlize Theron has joined the cast, E Online reported. Theron will take on the role of the villain in the high-octane film. There is a huge buzz surrounding Theron's participation in the film, especially after her critically-acclaimed performance as Furiosa in the Oscar-awardee "Mad Max: Fury Road."

"Fast 8" will be released in theatres on April 14, 2017. Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham have reprised their roles, while F. Gary Gray ("Straight Outta Compton") will direct the eighth film.

"Fast 9" and "Fast 10" will hit theatres on April 19, 2019 and April 2, 202, respectively.
