Mystery around the death of music icon Prince has deepened further as it is being claimed that he was suffering from AIDS before he was found dead last week. The late singer reportedly had refused treatment because he believed he could be cured by prayer.

The legendary musician was rumored to have diagnosed with the crippling condition just six months before he passed away on April 21. He was allegedly weighing just 80lbs at the time of his death and was totally deficient in iron.

The late singer rumored to have contracted HIV positive virus in 1990s. His condition had reportedly worsened in the last six months as he appeared very weak and disoriented.

The rumors come amidst the reports that the late singer had prescription painkillers in his possession when he died. Authorities investigating the death of the music legend found prescription opioid medication on his person and in his Minnesota home, a law enforcement official told CNN.

The pills found in possession of the late singer are commonly used to treat pain. Investigators reportedly believe that reaction to pain medication is most probably the reason behind the health scare that happened about a week before Prince's death, which had caused an unscheduled landing of his plane in Illinois. The pilot had later confirmed that a passenger, later known to be Prince, was unresponsive.

Despite the reports, it is not yet clear whether or not the drugs in question had played any part in Prince's death. The investigators had reportedly called for assistance from the Drug Enforcement Administration, who will check where the drugs came from and what prescriptions the singer had.

Prince was known to be in need of a double hip replacement from a long time. He allegedly rejected the operation since the process required him to accept a blood transfusion, which conflicted with his beliefs as a Jehovah's witness. Due to extreme pain caused by his hip condition, the singer had developed an addiction to the powerful painkiller Percocet, claimed TMZ.

However, Prince's longtime lawyer L. Londell McMillan dismissed the claims saying that everybody who know the late singer are aware that he was not into drugs. Meanwhile, chck out the music icon's best work below:
