The Ancient One in the comics is an elderly male from Kamar-Taj, Tibet who has been alive for centuries was a subject of "racial stereotyping". Marvel President Kevin Feige stated that by looking at the character today, they felt that Ancient One will considered to be "stereotypical" and explained that the Ancient One is a "title" that has been passed on to many different people whether gender or race.

Feige added that having the Ancient One as a female is something intersting to explore in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. It was revealed during a discussion on the Total Geekall podcast that Swinton's Ancient One is that of Celtic origin and hinted that there are other beings before her that claim the title, thus supporting Feige's explanation.

Marvel issued a statement stating that a very strong record of diversity in its casting of films and regularly departs from stereotypes and source material to bring its MCU to life.

Lastly, there have rumors making rounds that the Eye of Agamotto could be an Infinity Stone in the film.

Feige explained that the Eye of Agamotto was so powerful, it will be dangerous if fallen to the wrong hands and it can manipulate any probability, even time, Screenrant reported. With Feige hinting "time" in his explanation, fans quickly assumed that the Eye of Agamatto is MCU's version of the Time Stone.

The Time Stone will play pivotal role along with the other five Infinity Stones in "Avengers: Infinity War", were in Thanos (Josh Brolin) will attempt to complete stones with the Infinity Gauntlet to rule the universe.

"Doctor Strange" is scheduled to release in cinemas on Nov. 4.
