It seems like Sony will capitalize on the reception of fans when they first heard that "Crash Bandicoot" will have a PS4 release date. Although everything remains on the rumor mill as of this moment, the company just keep on dropping new hints to tease the Bandicoot's avid fans.

Just two months ago, NECA boss Randy Falk was interviewed during the New York Toy Fair and he revealed that Sony is planning to give "Crash Bandicoot" another run. However, just days after the interview, Falk said that he was misunderstood and it was not intention to give fans false hopes.

Considering how Sony and NECA have been partners for years, it is hard to believe that Falk would simply drop a bomb like that which was laced up with assurance, Daily Star reported.

"Finally, we've been able to get back in with Sony," Daily Star quoted Falk saying. "Looking at some of their other titles, I see they're bringing Crash Bandicoot back, which is really cool."

This statement was later on retracted by his representative as Falk's statement was based solely on a fan-made photo.

"It's not the case," the rep told Game Spot. "Someone has misunderstood a comment he made. Randy saw a faked fan-made image right before he came to the show and said that if the game were coming back, we'd love to do figures."

Seeing how fans received the news may be hard for Sony not to take advantage of the situation. In fact, they posted a "Crash Bandicoot" related photo in their official Twitter page and the image used is sort of re-mastered and something that could be used in a possible remake or sequel.

Although the image was labeled with Throwback Thursday, it is noticeable that the artwork is retouched which would fit the description of a remake. It is either Sony is once again gauging the interest for the game or "Crash Bandicoot" is indeed making a comeback.

Lastly, Naughty Dog stated in July 2014 that they are not taking away the possibility of a remake, but it has to feel right should they proceed on development. Besides, the designers and developers of the previous game is still working for the company.
