Square Enix has announced that it has teamed up with Level-5 that will bring some most popular "Yo-Kai Watch" characters into "Final Fantasy XIV." The collaboration will also bring "Final Fantasy XIV" content to "Yo-Kai Watch" series.

The announcement was made during "Final Fantasy XIV" Letter from the Producer LIVE Part XXIX live stream on Friday. As per the terms of the collaboration, 13 popular yo-kai weapons from the "Yo-Kai Watch" series (one for each of XIV's 13 jobs) will be appearing on "Final Fantasy XIV," Gematsu reported.

Aside from these characters, fans will also see pets, yo-kai-themed weapons, equipment, a Whisper flying and also the titular watch accessory from the "Yo-Kai Watch" in the "Final Fantasy XIV." This, however, does not appear to be a haphazard event, because there is specific details regarding the weapons as well as their individual names, such as the axe named the Paw of the Crimson Cat.

This will also give the fans an opportunity to collect "Yo-Kai Watch"-themed minions. In its forum, Square Enix stated that players will be able to earn the entire minions rather easily, but it would be tough to get the weapons. As players can glamour high-level items along with the look of the lower level items, all pieces of gear would be valuable.

As per the collaboration, even content based on "Final Fantasy" theme will also find place in "Yo-Kai Watch 3," which is scheduled for release in July in Japan. According to the post by Square Enix assistant director of community Matt Hilton on FFXIV's official forums, fusions of Jibanyan inspired by Chocobo and Moogle and named Chocobonyan and Mooglinyan respectively will be two of the new characters.

Although Square Enix is yet to announce a specific release date for the collaboration, it is expected that they are "currently planned for summer" with a view to coincide with the release of the new "Yo-Kai Watch" game in Japan, IGN reported. So far there is no confirmation on whether or not the collaborations will be released in the West. As of now only one "Yo-Kai Watch" game has been released in the West.

Meanwhile, Square Enix also announced "Final Fantasy XIV" Patch 3.3 "Revenge of the Horde," which will have new main scenario quests, new side quests counting Anima weapon story quests and additional Hildibrand adventures. It will also have Beast Tribe Quests relating to Moogles and dragons, new dungeons including Sohr Khai and Hullbreaker Island (Hard), and much more.
