Harington appeared in the theater lobby to meet his disappointed fans and to make up for the cancelled performances. The actor took selfies and signed posters with the fans, according to What's on Stage.

It was not the first time that there has been flooding at the theatre in the West End this year. The same incident occurred in January.

On April 24, Harington opened in the title role of "Doctor Faustus" in London. It coincided with the premiere of "Game of Thrones" Season 6 on HBO.

On April 28, Thursday, Harington was mobbed outside Duke of York's Theatre as he arrived for the evening's performance of the title role. With a brown flat cap, the 29-year-old British actor kept himself warm with a cream scarf and zip-up jacket, according to Daily Mail.

The title role of "Doctor Faustus" is Harington's first stage role in six years. Among his co-stars are Brian Gilligan as Cornelius, Craig Stein as Evil Angel, Forbes Masson as Lucifer, Tom Edden as Good Angel, Jenna Russell as Mephistopheles, Jade Anouka as Wagner, Danielle Flett as Valdes and ensemble member Gabby Wong.

On the big screen, Harington is set to star in "Brimstone" and "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan." The former is directed by Martin Koolhoven and it also stars Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Paul Anderson, Adrian Sparks, William Houston, Naomi Battrick, Carla Juri, Ivy George, Jack Roth, Justin Salinger, Martha Mackintosh and "Game of Thrones" star Carice van Houten, among others.

Xavier is the writer and director of "The Death and Life of John F. Donovan," which will be released in 2017. Harington is playing the title role and his co-stars include Nicholas Hoult, Taylor Kitsch, Natalie Portman, Susan Sarandon, Bella Thorne, Jessica Chastain and Kathy Bates.
