While we only know a few things about “Teen Wolf” Season 6 episode 1, showrunner Jeff Davis promised fans that the premiere will be something that is worth their wait. Apart from the highly anticipated Stiles (Dylan O’Brien) and Lydia (Holland Roden) storyline, he teased that there will be several new addition to the cast, which viewers should look out for.
Speaking to Hypable, Davis said that "Teen Wolf" Season 6 will remind fans of the early seasons of the hit MTV series. He explained that they wanted to bring back the focus to Stiles and Scott's (Tyler Posey) friendship. Davis also confirmed that Posey is set to direct one of the episodes in season 6B.
While Posey is clearly familiar with the show, being on "Teen Wolf" for the past six years, Davis explained that the actor still needed to learn a few things when it comes to directing. He pointed out that there is a lot of technical stuff that Posey needed to learn and master.
"There are a lot of things that you don't realize in directing. It's not just directing actors; it's choosing the right type of lens. It's choosing the number of shots to get through your coverage, whether you need to do a full scene in a master or only bits of a scene in a master," he explained.
Meanwhile, on several occasions Davis hinted that fans will get to see more of Scott and Lydia on "Teen Wolf" season 6. He shared that the coming season is going to be big for Stydia fans. Although there was quite a development between the two in season 5, Davis said that viewers can expect a whole lot more from the two in the coming episodes.
In an interview with TV Line, Davis admitted that there is more to Stiles and Lydia than just "lingering feelings."
"Something big happens in the very first episode of Season 6 between Stiles and Lydia, which you'll have to tune in to see," he teased.
