AMC's upcoming "Humans" Season 2 will see the return of familiar faces as well as the addition of new ones.

The finale of the first season of "Humans" was an emotional whirlwind, with the escape of the synths from Dr. Hobb, Max's revival, and Laura and Joe's reunion. Since there is a lot to expect in "Humans" Season 2, the show's creators revealed that they have "very big and exciting" plans for the characters.

Speaking to Variety, executive producer Jonathan Brackley said that there are big plans lined up for the Hawkins brood.

"They'll be back. They're very much the heart of the show," the publication quoted Brackley as saying about the Hawkins family.

As to whether or not they will be acquiring a new synth in "Humans" Season 2, Brackley hinted that, while it would difficult for them to buy a new one, they will certainly encounter more synths throughout the show.

Niska, who ran off with the code in the first season, is off to explore the big world. She spent much of her life sheltered and protected, and now, she is free to run and live her own life.

As for Mia, she will be doing a lot of soul-searching and investigating into her past in "Humans" Season 2.

Furthermore, there is also a lot of buzz surrounding the return of William Hunt for "Humans" Season 2. When asked if this is a possibility, Brackley said he is still contemplating if bringing him back would fit the tone of the show.

"It's questionable whether William Hurt arriving in a box at the door would be right for the tone of our show. It was for theirs; it was great. It was a bit creepy, it was funny, it was fantastic and weird," TV Line quoted Brackley as saying.

"We're not ruling anything out at this stage and that's all I can say on that at the moment," Brackley added.

Meanwhile, "The Matrix" alum Carrie-Anne Moss will also take on a role in "Humans" Season 2. Sam Palladio, Marshall Allman, Sonya Cassidy and Letitia Wright will also play new characters in "Humans" Season 2; however, the exact details of their roles have not been confirmed yet.
